LISTEN TO THE PLANTS: DANDELION

By Dr. med. Claudia Schmiemann

Dandelion, scientifically known as Taraxacum officinale, is a common herbaceous plant with numerous health benefits. Its roots, leaves, and flowers have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Dandelion is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like potassium and iron. It possesses potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties (which is favorable for Lyme), contributing to its various health benefits. Studies suggest that dandelion may aid digestion, support liver health, and promote detoxification. It has diuretic properties, which may help with water retention and bloating. Dandelion has also been used to support healthy blood sugar levels and promote weight loss. Additionally, it may enhance immune function and support cardiovascular health.

You can put leaves and flowers in your salad. Roots can be eaten as well or prepared as tinctures. Best is: it grows in every garden and doesn´t cost a thing.
